Raised Bed Gardening

Practical Guides for Productive Raised Beds

Terms of Use

Last updated: October 6, 2026

These Terms of Use apply to your use of Raised Bed Gardening (“the site”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

What the site provides

The site publishes free guides about growing vegetables and herbs in raised beds, for general information and personal enjoyment. We work to keep the guides clear and accurate, but we do not promise that every guide is free of errors or that you will get a particular result by following it. Results vary with climate, soil and weather, and with the crop and variety you grow. The guides describe what to decide, what to check and what usually helps; they are not an assessment of your garden, no harvest is guaranteed, and time estimates are approximate.

Gardening information at your own risk

The content on the site is general, educational gardening information. It is not professional horticultural, construction or engineering advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified professional or from your local extension office, who can take your own conditions into account. You follow the guides at your own risk, and you are responsible for deciding whether a suggestion suits your garden, your climate and your soil.

Materials, construction, tools and product labels

The site does not publish building plans or structural advice. Choosing materials, building or assembling a bed and using tools are at your own risk. Wet soil is heavy and pushes hard on the walls of a bed: follow the instructions of the maker of your kit or materials, and get qualified help for tall beds and for beds on decks, roofs or slopes. Use tools as their makers direct, with the protective gear they call for.

If you use a fertilizer, a pesticide or any other product mentioned in a guide, read the product label and follow it. The label on the product you bought takes priority over anything written on this site, including its directions on amounts, protective gear, storage and keeping the product away from children and pets.

Using our content

Unless stated otherwise, the text, illustrations and design of the site belong to Raised Bed Gardening. You are welcome to:

  • read, print and use the guides for personal, classroom, library or other non-commercial purposes;
  • share a link to any page;
  • quote short passages with a clear credit and a link back to the original page.

Please do not republish whole guides or illustrations, sell them, or present them as your own work without written permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site. This includes attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with how the site works, sending spam or unlawful content through the contact form, or copying the site in bulk by automated means beyond what is needed for normal search engine indexing.

The site links to a small number of third-party reference pages that we think are useful, such as university extension publications. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, Raised Bed Gardening is not liable for any loss, damage, injury or illness arising from your use of the site or from following its guides, including a failed crop, damage to property and harm to a person or an animal. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how information is handled when you use the site.
